Genre is something unavoidable when creating a single camera production. Even if you haven't decided on which genre you want your production to fall under, it will choose one naturally based on how it has been written or filmed or edited. Genre is the way of classifying a production, giving it a category to fall under should somebody want to find it without knowing the name. A film will fall under a specific genre based on its over all feel, acting style, plot, script, tone, lighting, mood, music and ambiance. Of all the genres that exist there are a certain few that are implemented the most, not due to lack of original ideas but simply because they more or less cover everything all together. These are genres such as comedy, drama, action, romance or horror. It's rare that you will find a film that won't be classed under one of these as there isn't a lot that exists apart from these.
